Howdy! I am a fairly recent graduate of Texas A&M University (5 years is fairly recent, right? Seems like just yesterday to me haha)! In my five years of teaching, I have taught kindergarten, first and second grade. I have to say, I have really found my niche in first grade. It's amazing to see how much the kids learn each day, and of course, every moment is an adventure.
In my free time I dabble in quilting, crafting, baking, and photography, so I try and incorporate some of these fun hobbies into my classroom as often as possible. I want first grade to be a FUN year for the kids and I am constantly trying to find new and interesting ways to teach each concept.
I'm using this blog as a way to connect with parents and give them some insight into what we do in class each day, as well as connect with other educators to learn and share ideas.
It is never a dull moment in first grade. Hope you'll hang around and enjoy the ride with us.
